Stars Forever

Those who are wise will shine as bright as the sky, and those who lead many to righteousness will shine like the stars forever.

Daniel 12:3

JASON KNEW, AS one who had experienced salvation through Jesus, that he needed to share this message with those who are lost. And in his heart he truly wanted to do that. But he was a shy and sensitive person at work and “hid his light under a bushel” for fear of criticism and rejection.

When Jason read this passage from Daniel, however, he had renewed determination. He realized what great glory awaited those who faithfully pointed others to the Savior. He may not be a “star” in this world, but he had a chance to be a bright one in the next.

We know we’ll be rewarded by God for any good deed, however small. But God has a special place in his heart for those who share the good news of what Jesus has done for us. He doesn’t desire judgment; rather, he’s delighted when someone repents and comes to the knowledge of the truth. Though not everyone will respond enthusiastically, we may be surprised—some will accept our invitation to know God. And one day, they will rejoice with us, thankful that we led them into the presence of the one who is the source of the light of all believers.

So, become like the wise people Daniel speaks of, and boldly but prudently share your joy in what God has done for you. God promises that you’ll end up shining brightly in heaven above.
