Satisfied
He satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.
Psalm 107:9
IN HIS REPORT to a church that supported him, a missionary spoke of his experiences in a country that had war, famine, and destruction. Someone asked, “How are the Christians there faring?”
The missionary was understandably quiet. Then he said, “It’s kind of remarkable. Though some of them are badly persecuted and some have been killed, the rest are always strong and made stronger by the testimony of those who have died. God takes care of them in amazing ways. Food seems to come out of nowhere sometimes. When we need water, the well is suddenly full. I’ve never seen a Christian starving or forgotten. God really does take care of his people.”
That kind of testimony is found over and over throughout the world. God does take care of his people. Even if he ultimately takes some of them home through terrible death, people report that somehow those tortured individuals didn’t waver, and many even appeared to welcome a chance to speak for Jesus.
His promise is to meet our needs in this world, and the truth is that he does. It might not be the way we wish. But it will be done. Don’t let Satan tell you otherwise.
