Never Desert You

Never Desert You

[God said,] “I will lead blind Israel down a new path, guiding them along an unfamiliar way. I will brighten the darkness before them and smooth out the road ahead of them. Yes, I will indeed do these things; I will not forsake them.”

Isaiah 42:16

QUINTON’S MOM TOLD him and his two younger siblings that she needed to go to the front of the restaurant to pay the bill. She left the three children in their booth, promising to be right back.

Quinton knew his mother was probably just at the front of the restaurant, but he began to get scared. What if his mom’s plan was to desert him and the others? What if they were now homeless? Where would they go? What could they do?

His terror mounted, and by the time his mom returned, he and the two others were in tears. Their relief, though, was great when they saw their mom.

Have you ever feared being left alone? rejected?

Though this sometimes happens in our world, it never happens with God. He promises that he will never leave us, never give up on us, never forget us. You can trust that when God brought you to faith, he made an eternal pact with you. That can never change.

Next time you’re tempted to feel alone because you’re not familiar with the road you’re on, remember that God is there leading you. He’s the light on your path and the one who makes a bumpy road smooth.
