Keep Doing Good
Keep Doing Good
Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.
Galatians 6:9
AN AUTHOR LISTENED to a bestselling and well-known novelist talk about her success and how God had led her. As he listened, he remembered his many failures as a writer and what he perceived as a total lack of success. He sat there and said, half to himself, “What have I ever done, God, that’s worthy of mention?”
On his way out of the meeting, a young woman came up to him. “Are you _________________, the author of ___________________?” The title was one of his early books, one that in his mind had been a huge failure, despite the fact that he believed God had led him to write it. She told him how that book had led her to Christ and changed her life.
The author walked away astonished. Then God seemed to whisper to him this very passage, reminding him that although he might not know in this world the results of his faithfulness, in the next he would. It’s a remarkable promise: keep being faithful in doing good, serving me, and expanding my Kingdom, God says, and one day you will see a great harvest.
