God Prepares The Way
God Prepares the Way
Be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the LORD your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.
Deuteronomy 31:6
WHEN RICK STARTED his new job, he had great misgivings. He had been transferred to another department within his company. He had heard much about the crew that worked there. They were vulgar and nasty and engaged in backbiting; they had the worst reputation in the whole company. Part of the reason Rick was sent there was to clean up the crew.
But Rick wasn’t sure he was up to it. He began praying about the situation every day. What he asked for was just one opportunity every day to build a friend in the group.
What he hadn’t counted on was the truth of this verse. God had gone before him in that group and made them very open to the kind of integrity and friendship Rick could give. In time, Rick built a number of solid friendships with his coworkers. They began to function like a real team. No one but Rick had any idea how it had happened, except the comments kept referring to Rick and his kind, nurturing personality.
You may think a work, church, or home situation is impossible. But remember this verse and its promise: God is there, and he has gone ahead, paving the way for you in ways you can’t even imagine. Trust him to help you succeed in your mission of building his Kingdom.
