Filled Up

He fills my life with good things. My youth is renewed like the eagle’s!

Psalm 103:5

SOMETIMES IT’S GOOD to take inventory of all the great blessings God has brought into your life. One young couple, on the brink of divorce and wondering what ever made them want to marry in the first place, were counseled to think of every blessing their partner had been to them over the time they had known each other.

As they compiled their lists, they soon discovered that God had showered them with blessings from each other that they’d forgotten about in the face of petty disputes that nearly destroyed them.

In the same way, when you feel God is simply not coming through on his promises to help and support you, make a list of his blessings in your life in the past—perhaps even write it up and frame it for reference every now and then when circumstances look bleak. You will undoubtedly find that God has indeed filled your life with good things.

Instead of feeling like a turkey on the ground, you will soar like an eagle, rising above your problems into the stratosphere, where God dwells in peace and safety.
