Trusting God With Our Worries
Trusting God with Our Worries
GOD, some mornings I say I want to trust you with all of my heart. But by midday it’s not unusual for me to become aware that I’m worrying or complaining or trying to fix things that aren’t mine to fix.
Help me to change my perspective. I want to be encouraged—even thankful—that your Spirit nudged me about what I was doing. Assist me in identifying my negative thoughts. Then I will look to you and ask for your help, which you are quick to provide.
Lord, I do want to trust you. Thank you for helping me see that my worrying, complaining, and controlling—my moments of unbelief—are not honoring to you. When I turn to you and tell you my needs, my worry starts to shrivel because of your peace.
Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.
Philippians 4:6-7
