Ordination To Ministry
Ordination to Ministry
DEAR LORD, today is a special day for my friend who will be ordained to the ministry. I’m thankful he has completed his journey of formal training and qualification by a wise group of ministerial leaders. Most important, I’m moved that he is willing to serve your people in this sacred way. This is a unique and holy calling, and my friend is being set apart to do your work, as your servant.
Although we are celebrating this occasion today, it signifies the beginning of a lifetime of service to you, God, and to your church. Some days will be joyful and happy, while others will include difficulties and discouragement. I pray, Lord, that you would equip and strengthen my friend to faithfully fulfill your calling. Grant him discernment, fortitude, and humility. Please guide him in your ways and cause him to be a great source of encouragement, hope, and knowledge to the people in his care.
Ordination is a calling that no one can take on by themselves. So I pray that you would equip my friend for all the good work that you have planned in advance for him to do. For the sake of your Son, Jesus Christ, amen.
