Grandparents - Prayers for Every Occasion

GOD, MY FATHER, you are the original Father. You have no father or grandfather, for you have always existed and have not descended from anyone. Existing from time immemorial, you are the great I AM. We have all descended from Adam and Eve, your first created couple—person after person, family after family, generation after generation.

You blessed me with grandparents who loved you. Although it has been years since they left this world to claim their home with you, I am the recipient of that godly legacy. Lord, accept my thanks for the good things—both material and spiritual—you passed on to me through my parents and grandparents. I’m grateful for shared experiences and treasured memories that through the corridors of time still reverberate messages of love to me.

Now I have the privilege of being a grandparent.

Teach me how to be a gracious and godly grandparent. I want to pass good things to future generations. May I be faithful in declaring your goodness and kindness in word and deed. Please help me to be an accurate reflection of your grace, your truth, and your love. Amen.
