Easter
Easter
CONQUERING LORD, today I celebrate Easter: Resurrection Sunday. My heart is full of joy and hope because of what this day represents. Easter signifies the day that you, Light of all light, burst forth from the tomb with incredible power, crushing sin and death. The brightest lights and grandest music can’t begin to capture what you, the Sunrise from on High, did that day. What a stunning turnaround from the darkest of Fridays we remembered somberly two days ago. On that day, when an immovable stone sealed the place where you were laid, it seemed all hope was lost. But death and the grave simply could not hold you.
I recall some dark days in my life when I wondered if there would ever be light and hope again. Those were days that tested my faith and perseverance. But Resurrection Sunday, the exclamation point of the Good News, reminded me that you have triumphed over sin and death.
On this magnificent day, I worship you—the Giver of all life. The Giver of new life. Amen!
