Divorce And Children

ALL-KNOWING GOD, many children of all ages are affected by the painful realities of their parents’ divorce. People around their parents often wish they could have done something to prevent the end of the marriage, but such wishes regarding other people’s situations and choices are just that—wishes.

You know everything there is to know about these children we care about, and that brings us comfort. You love them more than we do! Thank you for helping us learn over time that the only person whose attitudes, choices, and behaviors we have control over is . . . ourselves. The longer we live with this understanding, God, the more we run to you with our concerns.

In your power, wisdom, and mercy, please bless these children every day with physical, spiritual, and emotional well-being. We plead with you to provide people around them who will show them your kindness and compassion. Throughout their days, please help them sense your great love for them. Please give them many glimpses of your truth and grace, and nudge them to run to you for comfort, strength, and guidance.
