Zephaniah 3:17

The LORD . . . will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.

The book of Zephaniah is God’s message that people will either be judged for their sin and pride or saved through repentance and humility. God takes sin seriously, but how wonderful that throughout the Bible he affirms his love for us and warns of the consequences of rebellion. This verse affirms the beautiful relationship he longs to have with anyone who wants to follow him. Think deeply about how much God loves you: He offers you eternal life through Jesus. He delights in how he made you. He can calm your fears with his love. And he can’t help but sing joyful songs over you. Is anything holding you back from trusting God and receiving this kind of love?
