Romans 8:26

Romans 8:26

The Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.

Do you ever feel like you have no words to pray? Pain, confusion, exhaustion, grief, anxiety, and emptiness can hinder your expression to God in prayer. When we don’t know what to pray, the Holy Spirit intercedes and prays for us. His prayers for us aren’t hollow—he prays with groanings that we cannot begin to understand. The next time you sit in silence before God, longing to pray but unable to find the words, remind yourself of the one who is already praying on your behalf.
