Jeremiah 29:11-13
Jeremiah 29:11-13
“I know the plans I have for you,” says the LORD. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope. In those days when you pray, I will listen. If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me.”
King Nebuchadnezzar’s army had captured God’s people and brought them back to Babylon to live. Jeremiah wrote to tell the exiles that God had not abandoned or forgotten them. Even though they were in captivity because of their own foolishness, God reminded them that he had good plans for their future. He encouraged them to pray, because he would listen, and to look for him, because he would reveal himself. These verses reveal the faithfulness and graciousness of God’s character. No matter how far from God you are or how bad your circumstances, God wants to give you a good future.
