Exodus 4:11-13

Exodus 4:11-13

The LORD asked Moses, “Who makes a person’s mouth? Who decides whether people speak or do not speak, hear or do not hear, see or do not see? Is it not I, the LORD? Now go! I will be with you. . . .” But Moses again pleaded, “Lord, please! Send anyone else.”

Have you ever argued with God, begging him to choose someone else for a task that you feel unequipped for? Moses had just informed God that he wasn’t a polished speaker, so he couldn’t confront Pharaoh, Egypt’s king, and demand freedom from slavery for the Israelites. Yet God reminded Moses that he was the one who had created his mouth and would be with him to help him speak. In what areas do you feel inadequate? How might God want to work through your insecurity to show his great power?
