Something Good - One Minute Prayers for Women with Cancer

Something Good

“We know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him.” (Romans 8:28, NIV)

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” (Ephesians 2:10, ESV)

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11, ESV)

Unfortunately, God never promised us a trouble-free life, one without pain, heartache, loneliness, or hurt. He does, however, promise to work for our good in the midst of it all, including cancer. I know quoting this verse can sound trite—like an empty Christian platitude—but at its core is God’s love for you and your nearest and dearest.

No matter what cancer throws at you, you can be sure that “every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good.” Today, will you trust God to do that for everyone you love?

Lord, I am clinging to your promise to use for good anything and everything cancer throws at us. Right now, I can’t see how you’ll do that or what good can come of it, but I’m deciding to walk into today believing it’s true. May this suffering not be for nothing. Bring beauty and goodness from the pain and heartache cancer has given my precious people. Help them see it and know it, today and always.
