“For there is a time and a way for everything, although man’s trouble lies heavy on him.” (Ecclesiastes 8:6, ESV)

If you’ve ever said, “If I just knew what God was doing,” or “Why am I going through this?” you’re not alone. The Bible acknowledges that we often won’t understand God’s purposes in our waiting, and if you’re like me, it can drive you bonkers. But it also encourages us to stay the course, certain God will reveal his purposes at the right time. You might be fed up waiting for God’s plan, but that doesn’t mean it’s not coming. Can you wait expectantly? “If it seems slow in coming, wait. It’s on its way. It will come right on time.”

Your timing is always perfect, Lord. Help me trust you’ll reveal your plans when it’s time: your time. Forgive my impatience. Teach me to wait with expectancy, confident in your purposes and your schedule. As I wait for you and with you, steady and believing, fill me with peace. Lord, I trust your timing and wait, certain it’s on its way.
