Then Peter began to speak: “I now realize how true it is that God does not show favoritism but accepts men from every nation who fear him and do what is right.”

You should think: My prayer is as precious, holy, and pleasing to God as was that of St. Paul or of the most holy saints…God does not regard prayer on account of the person, but on account of His word and obedience thereto. For on the same rock upon which all the saints rested their prayers I, too, rest mine. Moreover I pray for the same thing for which they all prayed; besides, I have just as great a need as did those great saints.

Pray About It: Yes, it’s true—our prayers are as precious, holy, and pleasing to God as those of any believer—including the apostle Paul. How is this so? Because our prayers are never based on our own personal merit or standing, but on the ground of Christ alone. Apart from Him, we are all sinners. The apostle Paul claimed he was, in fact, the “chief sinner.” And yet because of grace we redeemed sinners have authority before God.
Pray today with the same authority with which Paul prayed. Pray mightily.
There is no leveler like Christianity, but it levels by lifting all who receive it to the lofty tableland of a true character and of undying hope both for now and eternity.
