Magnificent Prayer #57
Magnificent Prayer #57
Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said, “We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”
Numbers 13:30
It is a solemn thing to intercede for the nations of the world! Let us mobilize prayer! We can tip the scales of history. Christians can be the controlling factor in the unfolding drama of today’s world—let us not allow ourselves to be chased around by the enemy, but let us go up at once and take the kingdoms of this world for Jesus…He is delighted to give them to us…
In practical terms, may these truths make our prayer lives as individuals, and in prayer meetings, outward-looking, Satan-shaking, captive-releasing, kingdom-taking, revival-giving, Christ-glorifying power channels for God!
PATRICK JOHNSTONE
Pray About It: In his book, Operation World, Patrick Johnstone calls Christians to pray for the nations of the world. Too often we are unaware of the needs of those around the world, many of whom are our brothers and sisters in Christ. If God gives you compassion for a foreign land, learn the names of that country’s leaders and pray for them. Find out what missions organizations are operating in that country. Pray for them daily and send them financial support.
If the great commission to preach the gospel to all nations is to be filled, it must be done with powerful praying by compassionate Christians who are willing to be burdened for others.
In this respect, we can all be missionaries on the foreign field.
What country has God laid on your heart? If none, then consider asking God today to point out the country for which you can labor in prayer.
We ask for toys when we should ask for continents and be claiming the world for Christ.
