Magnificent Prayer #362
A man with leprosy came and knelt before him and said, “Lord, if you are willing, you can make me clean.”
Jesus reached out his hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” he said. “Be clean!”

In prayer you align yourselves to the purpose and power of God and He is able to do things through you that He couldn’t do otherwise. For this is an open universe, where some things are left open, contingent upon our doing them. If we do not do them, they will never be done. For God has left certain things open to prayer—things which will never be done except as we pray.

Pray About It: God is sovereign. But in His sovereignty He calls us to work with Him. It’s in that way that we must do our part so that He can do His. The leper asked Jesus to heal him, if He was willing. And Jesus, ever the compassionate healer, answered, “I am willing. Be clean!”
We ask according to His will and He concurs and the deed is done.
This year we’ve seen how prayer is used to accomplish God’s will. Maybe these past twelve months have been preparation for all that is to be done by God through your prayers next year.
There is work to be done—and you’re invited to be a part. Can anything be more exciting than an invitation from God?
God wills a great deal of blessing to His people which never comes to them. He wills it most earnestly, but they do not will it, and it cannot come to them.
