Magnificent Prayer #110
My expectation is from Him.
Psalm 62:5 NKJV
Every true prayer is not only an acknowledgment of God as the only sufficient One, but it demands an attitude of entire expectation from Him on the part of the pray-er. This is essential if normal relations are to exist between God and man. An answer to prayer, when the expectation is not wholly toward God, would only divert the confidence of the prayer, and foster a false trust in his mind.
It is necessary for the Christian, therefore, in the interests of his own understanding of God and truth, to come directly to God, acknowledging His omnipotence, and looking to Him as alone sufficient to do the thing for which he is praying.

Pray About It: Our expectation in prayer must be from Him alone. Don’t look to the natural means to your answer, for you may be disappointed. God will work on your behalf when you depend on Him alone.
If the Christian looks for anything from the world, it is a poor expectation indeed. But if he looks to God for the supply of his wants, whether in temporal or spiritual blessings, his expectation will not be a vain one.
