You Are The Key! - Leaning on the Promises of God for Moms

Everyone wants to know just what to do to have good results with their children, yet there is no one-size-fits-all answer. There is, however, one important key: you! The key to raising excellent children is for you to grow in excellence. You cannot give your children what you do not possess. Buying the best curriculum or the most expensive lessons cannot compensate for shortcomings in your own life; as the Scripture says, your children will be like their teacher. We, as teachers and models, do not need to condemn ourselves for not being perfect. Yet, even as we look for a heart of obedience in our children, a willingness to try to please us, so He is looking for that intention in us.

You can always accomplish more than you thought with God at your side. God’s grace carries you through each weakness, failure, and sin, but He is always calling you to live beyond the place where you are, to grow more fully into the you He created you to be. If you are growing, learning, loving more, living more intentionally, He will bring excellence and growth into the very fiber of your family life. For indeed, the most important resource to your children in their life education is you, as you submit to God’s training and calling on your own life, fully committed to being like Him, your Teacher.

His Promises

I will teach all your children,

and they will enjoy great peace.

But you must remain faithful to the things you have been taught. You know they are true, for you know you can trust those who taught you. You have been taught the holy Scriptures from childhood, and they have given you the wisdom to receive the salvation that comes by trusting in Christ Jesus.

Let each generation tell its children of your mighty acts;

let them proclaim your power.
