Follow The Leaders - Leaning on the Promises of God for Moms
Follow the Leaders
God promises that He will support us, give us strength, and help us know how to take action. Many people in the Bible—including Esther, Daniel, David, Moses, Abraham, Ruth, Peter, and Mary, the mother of Jesus—displayed strength and took action in their own times. These are our models who give us hope to think that all of us, when filled with the Spirit of God, might do the same.
How do you move in the direction of receiving God’s strength?
- Find those who, when you are with them, cause you to want to be better and more faithful and who inspire you to walk with God. Whether in books, or in person, do what you can to be with them.
- Read biographies of faith-oriented people God has used. Corrie ten Boom, Brother Andrew, Amy Carmichael, Hudson Taylor, George Müller, Ben Carson, Andrew Carnegie, Mother Teresa, Jim Elliot—there are so many who are inspiring because they were moved to take action in their generations.
- To know God, you must invest in His Word and prayer. You could not deeply know someone with whom you never communicated. The more you are with God, the more you will reflect His influence.
- Regularly get away by yourself and observe the details of your life. What is draining you? Where have you ceased to believe God? Is there any sin habit that is building an invisible wall between you and God? What activities are necessary, and which might be dropped?
His Promises
Remember your leaders who taught you the word of God. Think of all the good that has come from their lives, and follow the example of their faith.
And the Holy Spirit helps us in our weakness. For example, we don’t know what God wants us to pray for. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words.
Ask me and I will tell you remarkable secrets you do not know about things to come.
