You Are Worthy Of God’s Love
You Are Worthy Of God’s Love
Lord, you say I am loved, but what if I don’t feel lovable?
I have always loved you. I will always be your God. You know how much I love you, so put your trust in my love. I am love, and all who live in love live in me, and I live in them. Love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If you are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that you have not fully experienced my perfect love. Even if you feel guilty, I am greater than your feelings, and I know everything.
Malachi 1:2; Genesis 17:7; 1 John 4:16, 18; 1 John 3:20
Jesus, how can I live with an enduring sense that I am worthy of love?
I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father and remain in his love. I have told you this so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow! For you know how dearly I love you, because I have given you the Holy Spirit to fill your heart with my love.
John 15:9-11; Romans 5:5
What can I pray to be more aware of your love for me?
Lord, you take delight in me with gladness. With your love, you will calm all my fears. You will rejoice over me with joyful songs.
Zephaniah 3:17
The greatest news of the gospel is that God’s love is for everyone. Have you put your trust in his love? Can you trust God more than your feelings? Read Zephaniah 3:17 and soak in the assurances of his love: He delights in you, he calms your fears with his love, he rejoices in you, he sings songs over you. Repeat these truths today when you feel unlovable or unworthy of God’s love.
