A Cry For Help
A Cry For Help
Lord, I’ve been praying for help, but nothing’s changed. Can you hear me?
I am keeping you in my thoughts. I am your helper and your savior. My eyes watch over those who do right, and my ears are open to their prayers. In your distress, cry out to me; yes, cry to me for help. I will hear you from my sanctuary; your cry will reach my ears.
Psalm 40:17; 1 Peter 3:12; 2 Samuel 22:7
But if you hear me, where is the help I need?
Wait patiently for me. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for me. The needy will not be ignored forever. Wait patiently, for it will surely take place. It will not be delayed. Come boldly to my throne, for I am your gracious God. There you will receive my mercy, and you will find grace to help you when you need it most. My grace is all you need.
Psalm 27:14; Psalm 9:18; Habakkuk 2:3; Hebrews 4:16; 2 Corinthians 12:9
What can I pray while I’m waiting for you to help me?
I love you, LORD, because you hear my voice and my prayer for mercy. Because you bend down to listen, I will pray as long as I have breath! Listen to my voice in the morning, LORD. Each morning I bring my requests to you and wait expectantly.
Psalm 116:1-2; Psalm 5:3
Right now, stop and pray for five minutes. Tell God you are waiting for his help. While you pray, imagine God listening to you intently, as a loving father is attentive to his beloved child. Then take five minutes to listen to God. This exercise isn’t meant to force God to speak but to open your heart to his voice.
