The Lord Will Help You Care For Your Children
The Lord Will Help You Care For Your Children
Lord, how do I raise children who grow to know and love you?
If you look for me wholeheartedly, you will find me. Tell your children and grandchildren about the signs I displayed—so you will know that I am the LORD. Commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Direct your children onto the right path, and when they are older, they will not leave it.
Jeremiah 29:13; Exodus 10:2; Deuteronomy 11:18-19; Proverbs 22:6
How will you help me with this huge task?
Do not be afraid or discouraged, for I will personally go ahead of you. I will be with you. I will feed my flock like a shepherd. I will carry the lambs in my arms, holding them close to my heart. I will gently lead the mother sheep with their young.
Deuteronomy 31:8; Isaiah 40:11
What can I pray over my children?
May the LORD bless you and protect you. May the LORD smile on you and be gracious to you. May the LORD show you his favor and give you his peace.
Numbers 6:24-26
Write down the prayer from Numbers 6. Place it somewhere you are often with your children—for example, above the changing table, on the dashboard of your car, or at the kitchen table—and use it to remind yourself to pray for them. Reread the prayer until you have it memorized.
