Speak Up For The Vulnerable
Speak Up For The Vulnerable
Lord, sometimes the world seems so unfair. Will your justice really prevail?
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy! Let the trees of the forest sing for joy before me, for I am coming! I am coming to judge the earth. I will judge the world with justice, and the nations with my truth. The godly will rejoice when they see injustice avenged. Then at last everyone will say, “There truly is a reward for those who live for God; surely there is a God who judges justly here on earth.”
Psalm 96:12-13; Psalm 58:10-11
What can I do to promote a more just world?
Give justice to the poor and the orphan; uphold the rights of the oppressed and the destitute. Rescue the poor and helpless; deliver them from the grasp of evil people. Speak up for those who cannot speak for themselves; ensure justice for those being crushed. Yes, speak up for the poor and helpless, and see that they get justice.
Psalm 82:3-4; Proverbs 31:8-9
What can I pray when I see injustice in the world?
LORD, you reign forever, executing judgment from your throne. You will judge the world with justice and rule the nations with fairness. You are a shelter for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble. Those who know your name trust in you, for you, O LORD, do not abandon those who search for you.
Psalm 9:7-10
What injustices stir your heart to action? What brokenness in the world moves you to compassion? Find a way to get involved. It might be choosing to buy fair-trade fashions or coffee, supporting an organization that works for social justice, going on a mission trip, volunteering with children with special needs, or sponsoring a child in a developing country.
