Celebrate God’s Presence
Celebrate God’s Presence
Lord, what is the secret to a joyful life?
All who seek me will praise me. Your heart will rejoice with everlasting joy. Joyful are those who have me as their helper, whose hope is in me. I am always with you. No wonder your heart is glad, and you rejoice.
Psalm 22:26; Psalm 146:5; Psalm 16:8-9
If your presence brings joy, what about the seasons of life when I don’t feel joyful?
Don’t be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you. Instead, be very glad—for these trials make you partners with Christ in his suffering, so that you will have the wonderful joy of seeing his glory when it is revealed to all the world.
1 Peter 4:12-13
What can I pray to find joy in your presence?
How lovely is your dwelling place, O LORD of Heaven’s Armies. With my whole being, body and soul, I will shout joyfully to you, the living God. O Lord, you are so good, so ready to forgive, so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help. Give me happiness, O Lord, for I give myself to you.
Psalm 84:1-2; Psalm 86:5; Psalm 86:4
Joy is the celebration of your friendship with God. Feelings and circumstances can’t determine your sense of joy. Even in times of trouble and anguish, you can experience joy because of God’s unfailing love for you. What is one reason you can celebrate God’s presence with you? Take five minutes to celebrate this today. Take a praise walk, enjoy a special meal, journal your gratitude, or give yourself a small present as a reminder that God’s presence is a continual gift of joy.
