Times For Waiting

Times For Waiting

Lord, I believe you will keep your promises, but how can I patiently wait to see them fulfilled?

Patient endurance is what you need now, so that you will continue to do my will. Then you will receive all that I have promised. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing.

Hebrews 10:36; James 1:3-4

How can I use this time of waiting most wisely?

You will always harvest what you plant. Those who live only to satisfy their own sinful nature will harvest decay and death from that sinful nature. But those who live to please the Spirit will harvest everlasting life from the Spirit. So don’t get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up.

Galatians 6:7-9

How can I pray while I wait?

I am confident I will see your goodness, LORD, while I am here in the land of the living. I will wait patiently for you, LORD. I will be brave and courageous. Yes, I will wait patiently for you, LORD. The Scriptures give me hope and encouragement as I wait patiently for your promises to be fulfilled.

Psalm 27:13-14; Romans 15:4

What are you planting in this season of your life? What is the harvest you are patiently waiting for right now? Perhaps it’s renewed love with your spouse or obedience in your child. How can you use this time of waiting to please the Lord and do good? Here are some examples: You can plant seeds of forgiveness in your marriage; give grace and a gentle response to a rebellious child; choose vegetables over sweets to plant seeds of health; give generously to show you are trusting in God’s provision.
