God’s Rescue Plan

God’s Rescue Plan

Lord, are you doing anything about all the pain in the world?

I have seen violence done to the helpless, and I have heard the groans of the poor. Now I will rise up to rescue them, as they have longed for me to do. I will rescue those who love me. I will protect those who trust in my name. When they call on me, I will answer; I will be with them in trouble. I will rescue them and honor them.

Psalm 12:5; Psalm 91:14-15

What is your rescue plan?

There is one Mediator who can reconcile humanity with me—the man Christ Jesus. He gave his life to purchase freedom for everyone. This is the message I gave to the world at just the right time. Jesus gave his life for your sins, just as I planned, in order to rescue you from this evil world in which you live.

1 Timothy 2:5-6; Galatians 1:4

What can I pray in response to the pain I see in the world?

I put my hope in you, LORD. You are my help and my shield. Arise, O LORD! Punish the wicked, O God! Do not ignore the helpless! LORD, you know the hopes of the helpless. Surely you will hear their cries and comfort them. You will bring justice.

Psalm 33:20; Psalm 10:12, 17-18

God isn’t ignoring pain and suffering in the world today. He is acting to rescue people, even if we can’t see it. Separation from God because of sin is ultimately why this world so badly needs a Savior. Jesus gave his life to make a way for the world to be reconciled to God. Memorize Psalm 33:20: “We put our hope in the LORD. He is our help and our shield.” Claim these words as a promise of hope today. When you encounter pain or hear of violence or evil in the world, use this verse to declare your hope in God’s rescue.
