The Way To Secure Unfading Beauty

The Way To Secure Unfading Beauty

Lord, how much should I invest in my outward appearance?

Don’t be concerned about the outward beauty of fancy hairstyles, expensive jewelry, or beautiful clothes. You must clothe yourself with tenderhearted mercy, kindness, humility, gentleness, and patience—the beauty that comes from within, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is so precious to me. People judge by outward appearance, but I look at the heart. I—the Spirit—make you more and more like Jesus as you are changed into his glorious image.

1 Peter 3:3; Colossians 3:12; 1 Peter 3:4; 1 Samuel 16:7; 2 Corinthians 3:18

How can I have a heart that reflects your beauty, Lord?

When Moses came down Mount Sinai carrying the two stone tablets inscribed with the terms of the covenant, he wasn’t aware that his face had become radiant because he had spoken to me. I reveal my holiness through you. Remain in me, and I will remain in you.

Exodus 34:29; Ezekiel 36:23; John 15:4

What can I pray to better reflect your beauty?

Make your light shine in my heart so I can know the glory that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

2 Corinthians 4:6

Developing a beautiful character is an investment of unfading value. Moses was radiant because he spent time in the presence of God. The more connected you are to the Lord, the more your heart will reflect his heart. How much time do you invest in your physical appearance each day? What if you spent the same amount of time working on improving your character? How can you carve out extra time this evening to be with Jesus and invest in growing your inner beauty?
