Release Control And Receive So Much More - In the Evening When I Rest

Release Control And Receive So Much More

Lord, how can I let go of trying to control everything?

If you cling to your life, you will lose it, and if you let your life go, you will save it. Humble yourself before me. Trust in me with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek my will in all you do, and I will show you which path to take.

Luke 17:33; James 4:10; Proverbs 3:5-6

How can I release control yet also plan for the future?

You can make your plans, but I determine your steps. Look here, you who say, “Today or tomorrow we are going to a certain town and will stay there a year. We will do business there and make a profit.” How do you know what your life will be like tomorrow? Your life is like the morning fog—it’s here a little while, then it’s gone. What you ought to say is, “If the Lord wants us to, we will live and do this or that.”

Proverbs 16:9; James 4:13-15

What can I pray when I find myself trying to control everything?

My old self has been crucified with you, Jesus. It is no longer I who live, but you who live in me. So I live in this earthly body by trusting you, the Son of God, who loved me and gave yourself for me.

Galatians 2:20

Releasing control over your own plans opens your hands to grasp God’s plan. And God’s plan is always for your ultimate good. Is there something you need to release your grip on? Write down your plans and prayerfully submit each one to God. Ask him to help you trust that he knows what is best for you.
