God’s Ways Are Sometimes Mysterious
Lord, why do your ways seem so mysterious at times?
I am greater than you can understand. Just as you cannot understand the path of the wind or the mystery of a tiny baby growing in its mother’s womb, so you cannot understand my activity. My ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. For just as the heavens are higher than the earth, so my ways are higher than your ways and my thoughts higher than your thoughts.

What is a mystery you have revealed to me?
I want you to have complete confidence that you understand my mysterious plan, which is Christ himself. In him lie hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge. At the right time I will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth. Furthermore, because you are united with Christ, you have received an inheritance from me, for I chose you in advance, and I make everything work out according to my plan.

What can I pray when I don’t understand what you are doing in my life?
O God, my Savior, you work in mysterious ways. You will work out your plans for my life—for your faithful love, LORD, endures forever.
Isaiah 45:15; Psalm 138:8
When we cannot make sense of a situation, it often makes us uncomfortable or distrusting. And when God acts in mysterious ways, it naturally challenges our faith. However, if God’s nature and knowledge could be completely known by humans, we would cease to be in awe of him. God has given you all you need to know in order to believe in him. Take a moment to prayerfully ask, “Lord, what are you calling me to trust you with today?”
