Don’t Give Up On What You’ve Been Called To Do
Don’t Give Up On What You’ve Been Called To Do
Lord, how can I pursue my calling when I feel so inadequate?
Don’t get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time you will reap a harvest of blessing if you don’t give up. Be strong and courageous, and do the work. Don’t be afraid or discouraged, for I am with you. I will not fail you or forsake you.
Galatians 6:9; 1 Chronicles 28:20
How do you reward those who faithfully serve you to the end?
You will receive the crown of life that I have promised to those who love me. I will say, “Well done, my good and faithful servant. You have been faithful in handling this small amount, so now I will give you many more responsibilities. Let’s celebrate together!”
James 1:12; Matthew 25:23
What can I pray when I need encouragement to press on?
I am pressed on every side by troubles, but I am not crushed. I am perplexed, but not driven to despair. I know that you, God, who raised the Lord Jesus, will also raise me with Jesus and present me to yourself. That is why I never give up.
2 Corinthians 4:8, 14, 16
If God has called you to a task, don’t give up when it gets difficult. Just because God asks you to do something doesn’t mean it will be easy. Sometimes the things that are most worth doing are the hardest. Don’t worry about whether you are adequate for the task. Your job is simply to wake up each morning and ask God to help you faithfully obey him. Write down Philippians 4:13: “I can do everything through Christ, who gives me strength.” Put it where it’s easily visible. Remind yourself that with God’s help, you are able to accomplish everything he calls you to do.
