Come And Listen
Come And Listen
Lord, what can I learn from listening to you?
Listen to me. I have cared for you since you were born. Come and listen to my counsel. I’ll share my heart with you and make you wise. I will teach you to fear me. I will teach you wisdom’s ways and lead you in straight paths. Let those who are wise understand these things. Let those with discernment listen carefully. My paths are true and right, and righteous people live by walking in them.
Isaiah 46:3; Proverbs 1:23; Psalm 34:11; Proverbs 4:11; Hosea 14:9
How can I listen to you better?
Be still, and know that I am God! Each morning bring your requests to me and wait expectantly. Pay attention to how you hear. To those who listen to my teaching, more understanding will be given. But for those who are not listening, even what they think they understand will be taken away from them.
Psalm 46:10; Psalm 5:3; Luke 8:18
How can I pray to ready my heart to hear from you?
You are near, O LORD, and all your commands are true. I have known from my earliest days that your laws will last forever. My heart has heard you say, “Come and talk with me.” And my heart responds, “LORD, I am coming.” Let all that I am wait quietly before you, for my hope is in you.
Psalm 119:151-152; Psalm 27:8; Psalm 62:5
God has so much he wants to share with you! When was the last time you heard the Lord speak to you? Take a moment right now to pray, “Lord, what do you want to say to me about this day?” Wait quietly and reflect on what comes to mind. Ask yourself whether those thoughts line up with Scripture. Are they words of love and grace? Do they point you toward God and his Kingdom?
