Be Faithful In The Little Things

Be Faithful In The Little Things

Lord, what does a life of integrity look like?

Joyful are people of integrity, who follow my instructions. Joyful are those who obey my laws and search for me with all their hearts; those who do what is right, speaking the truth from sincere hearts; those who refuse to gossip or harm their neighbors or speak evil of their friends; those who keep their promises even when it hurts.

Psalm 119:1-2; Psalm 15:2-4

How can I develop greater integrity?

If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities. Choose today whom you will serve.

Luke 16:10; Joshua 24:15

How can I pray for integrity in a morally tricky situation?

I know, my God, that you examine my heart and rejoice when you find integrity there. Oh, that my actions would consistently reflect your decrees!

1 Chronicles 29:17; Psalm 119:5

Integrity is the alignment of your character with God’s character. It reflects the heart, mind, and actions of God as much as is humanly possible. But integrity isn’t something you achieve instantly; developing it is a process that happens choice by choice. If you can be trusted to be honest in a small matter, you will eventually be trusted to be honest in larger matters. Is there a small decision where you feel tempted to cut a corner, tell a white lie, or act apart from God’s character? Ask yourself if you’d trust someone else who didn’t act with integrity. Are you willing to act with integrity no matter what the outcome?
