Allow God’s Word To Sink In
Allow God’s Word To Sink In
Lord, what does it mean to meditate on your Word?
Commit yourself wholeheartedly to these words of mine. Tie them to your hands and wear them on your forehead as reminders. Teach them to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Show love to me by walking in my ways and holding tightly to me. Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.
Deuteronomy 11:18-19, 22; Joshua 1:8
What will happen when I fill my thoughts with your Word?
When you discovered my words, you devoured them. They are your joy and your heart’s delight. Let the message about Christ, in all its richness, fill your life. I will keep in perfect peace all who trust in me, all whose thoughts are fixed on me.
Jeremiah 15:16; Colossians 3:16; Isaiah 26:3
What can I pray to prepare my heart before I read your Word?
I will study your commandments and reflect on your ways. I ponder all your great works and think about what you have done. I will meditate on your majestic, glorious splendor and your wonderful miracles.
Psalm 119:15; Psalm 143:5; Psalm 145:5
