Your Father

When your earthly father fails you, your heavenly Father finds you.

Do not be surprised when people fail you. It especially hurts when the pain of rejection is inflicted by a parent—by someone you thought would always give you the benefit of the doubt, cheer for you, encourage you, and nurture you. This pain is often multiplied when you see other families expressing sincere love and appreciation for each other. The antidote to this kind of hurt is to realize how much I love you and that I am a father to the fatherless. I know exactly what you need even before you ask (Matthew 6:8).

When you accepted My Son as your Savior, you became My child—and I’ve invited you to participate in the special connection that only a father and his children enjoy. Call Me your Abba Father because I’m your loving Father who desires the best for you. The relationship you’ve entered into with Me is personal. It’s adventurously expectant. Greet Me with a childlike “What’s next, Papa?” My Spirit touches your spirit and confirms who you really are. You will receive what I have planned for you—comfort and advice in this world, and in the future, an inheritance beyond description! (paraphrased from Romans 8:15-17, MSG). That’s because we’re in the same family!
