Open Hands

Open Hands

Hold everything in your hands lightly, otherwise it hurts when God pries your fingers open.

Corrie ten Boom

You’ve been asking for My blessing, but you still want to hold on to secret sins, unhealthy relationships, the memory of wrong choices, and the security of predictable circumstances. I’m asking you to let go. Surrender to Me, confess and turn your back on sin, and go in a new direction. Quit spending time in relationships that drag you down or offer unwholesome enticements. When you yield your will to the mind of Christ, you refuse to entertain thoughts about past sinful choices and instead concentrate on right living—now and in the future. Rather than worrying about little things, trust Me with your safety and well-being.

Opening your hands and heart requires complete faith in Me—without knowing ahead of time what the future will look like. It’s a quiet confidence that embraces My plan for your life and believes that I will take care of you and your loved ones. I long to have you trust Me enough to let go.

Let God work his will in you. . . . Say a quiet yes to God and he’ll be there in no time. Quit dabbling in sin. Purify your inner life. . . . Get serious, really serious. Get down on your knees before the Master; it’s the only way you’ll get on your feet.
