Worn Out
Worn Out
By default, most of us have taken the dare to simply survive. Exist. Get through. For the most part, we live numb to life—we’ve grown weary and apathetic and jaded . . . and wounded.

If you are tired, you are not alone. Exhaustion often accompanies the stress of carrying heavy burdens or experiencing great loss. At times you have neglected eating or you’ve eaten too much. You get little sleep, and it’s tempting to become apathetic or even cynical. Your circumstances never seem to change, and you feel responsible for more than you can handle. You didn’t ask for this heaviness, but it’s been thrust upon you. The psalmist said, “I am worn out waiting for your rescue, but I have put my hope in your word” (Psalm 119:81). “My vision is blurred by grief; my eyes are worn out because of all my enemies” (Psalm 6:7).
When you feel overwhelmed, look to Me. Follow this advice from the writer of Hebrews: “ Take a new grip with your tired hands and strengthen your weak knees. Mark out a straight path for your feet” (12:12-13). Get rest for your body and strength for your soul. Delegate what others can do and be humble enough to receive help from compassionate people. I did not create you to do everything on your own. You need assistance from family members, friends, and Me. Do what you can and then sleep. Everything else will wait for tomorrow.
He gives power to the weak and strength to the powerless.
Isaiah 40:29
