What To Do

What To Do

Often the very things that you think have disqualified you are the ones that qualify you to do what God has called you to do.

Christine Caine

Fear has been stalking you—the fear that your past has disqualified you from doing My work in this world. You’ve observed others who appear to lead perfect, Christlike lives. Their faith seems stronger than yours. They can quote Bible verses and remember the references. They are able to balance their personal lives, their work lives, and their ministries without showing fatigue. If they’ve made bad choices in their personal or spiritual lives, there is no visible sign of it now. The more you compare your qualifications with theirs, the more inadequate you feel. When these thoughts loom in your mind, recognize that they don’t come from Me. Remember My imperfect servant David and start saying this Scripture out loud: “My heart is confident in you, O God; no wonder I can sing your praises with all my heart!” (Psalm 108:1).

Declare that because of Jesus and His shed blood for you on the cross, the past does not dictate your future. Say aloud, “I am forgiven. I am equipped with God’s truth. I am empowered by the Spirit of the Most High God. My foundation rests on the truth of God’s Word. My highest privilege is to offer my weaknesses, my failings, and my lack of faith to God my Father. I am confident and surefooted because I am His.”

The Sovereign LORD is my strength! He makes me as surefooted as a deer, able to tread upon the heights.

Habakkuk 3:19
