The Secret Place
The Secret Place
In place of our exhaustion and spiritual fatigue, He will give us rest. All He asks is that we come to Him . . . meditating on Him, talking to Him, listening in silence, occupying ourselves with Him—totally and thoroughly lost in the hiding place of His presence.
Charles Swindoll
Come close to Me. I will be your Covering, your Shelter, and your Dwelling. When needed, I will conceal you in a secret hiding place. This haven is sometimes an actual physical location. More often, it is a condition of your heart in relationship with Me. It’s a state of peace in the midst of physical, mental, or spiritual attacks. I long to commune with you as we walk together. When your hand is in Mine, you are always in a place of security and safety.
Instead of worrying, meditate on My Word, and I will protect you from trouble. Rather than giving in to defeat and fear, hide Scripture in your heart: “The one thing I ask of the LORD—the thing I seek most—is to live in the house of the LORD all the days of my life. . . . For he will conceal me there when troubles come; he will hide me in his sanctuary. He will place me out of reach on a high rock” (Psalm 27:4-5). When you take refuge in Me, you’ll find a deep spiritual rest that overcomes debilitating circumstances.
You are my hiding place; you will protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance.
Psalm 32:7, NIV
