Thank You

Thank You

I thank God for the way he made you, distinct, special and unique. You were not made from a common mold.

Erwin Lutzer

Focus your gratitude today on the people I’ve placed in your life who have blessed and encouraged you. Take time to list their exceptional and praiseworthy qualities. Consider how their walks with Me have inspired you to hold on to hope. How has their uniqueness provided creative ways for them to come alongside ministries and individuals to bring an increase in joy, faith, and love? Begin by thanking Me for the specific ways they have assisted you during a long and arduous journey.

Now read a letter the apostle Paul wrote to Philemon, and notice the way he thanks and challenges this friend. “I always thank my God when I pray for you . . . because I keep hearing about your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all of God’s people. And I am praying that you will put into action the generosity that comes from your faith as you understand and experience all the good things we have in Christ. Your love has given me much joy and comfort, my brother, for your kindness has often refreshed the hearts of God’s people” (1:4-7). Make a list of the ways a friend has supported you physically, emotionally, or spiritually and write a note of thanks. You will encourage that person, and your own heart will be refreshed by the memory of his or her kindness.

Every time I think of you, I give thanks to my God.
