Here I Am
Here I Am
God did not direct His call to Isaiah—Isaiah overheard God saying, “. . . who will go for Us?” The call of God is not just for a select few but for everyone. Whether I hear God’s call or not depends on the condition of my ears, and exactly what I hear depends upon my spiritual attitude.
Oswald Chambers
Look forward to the opportunities I place before you every day. Sometimes I want you to listen to someone who feels forgotten. At other times My Spirit will nudge you to perform a specific act of kindness for a person who needs encouragement. I may open a door for you to share your faith with a coworker. You might have an opportunity to advocate a cause I care about. Sometimes I will call you to an assignment that will take a longer block of time—something that will further My Kingdom agenda and require a sacrifice of time and resources from you.
You may be thinking, I have problems myself. How can I possibly help someone else? But remember, I will equip you with everything you need for the assigned mission. Your job is to answer the call and listen to My instructions. Sometimes you’ll know what to do after reading My Word or listening to a fellow Christ-follower. Often, I will prod your inner spirit and reveal your next steps. When you say, “Here I am, Lord,” I will use you in ways you might never have imagined.
Then I heard the Lord asking, “Whom should I send as a messenger to this people? Who will go for us?” I said, “Here I am. Send me.”
Isaiah 6:8
