Shelter

Shelter

That little bird has chosen his shelter. Above it are the stars and the deep heaven of worlds. Yet he is rocking himself to sleep without caring for tomorrow’s lodging, calmly clinging to his little twig, and leaving God to think for him.

Martin Luther

When you feel unprotected and uncared for, observe the birds of the air. “They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are?” (Matthew 6:26). Let Me be your safe haven during the storms of life. When you need a shelter, I will provide a sanctuary for you. Take refuge in My arms. I will give you everything you need.

If you live under My protection, you can trade anxiety for peace and rest. When your enemies come after you, I will be your Defense. Make Me your Rock of refuge. Pray with the psalmist: “But my eyes are upon You, O GOD the Lord; In You I take refuge; Do not leave my soul destitute. . . . Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I escape safely” (Psalm 141:8, 10, NKJV). Enfold yourself in the sturdy shelter of My almighty wings and know that I will keep you secure.

For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.

Psalm 27:5, NIV
