Security

I am your Protector. When fear and anxiety stalk you, come to Me. I am your Hiding Place. You are never safer than when you are in the center of My will. You have nothing to be afraid of when you find your security in Me. The psalmist said, “In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety” (Psalm 4:8, NIV). Sometimes your insecurity comes from not knowing what to do in the face of adversity. Remember that I’m your Guide, your Counselor, and your Friend. Ask Me for advice, and look for My response in Scripture, through the wise counsel of people who know Me, and through the inner voice of My Holy Spirit.

Pray like my prophet Jeremiah did: “LORD, you are my strength and fortress, my refuge in the day of trouble!” (Jeremiah 16:19). Practice coming to Me first when you feel threatened or vulnerable, and you will discover that I am always available to be your safe place. The only time you need to fear is when you are running away from My loving arms.

Fear of the LORD leads to life, bringing security and protection from harm.
