Second Chances
Second Chances
We have a God of the second chance. He not only restores us but recycles our failures, using them for his purposes. . . . Failure can be the best preparation for this kind of success, if we submit ourselves to its lessons while we wait for another chance.
Elisa Morgan
You’ve been reluctant to come into My presence. You’ve been running in the opposite direction of what you already know is My desired path for your life. It hurts Me when you snub My advice and push through your days without My direction. You say you love Me, but you’ve been holding back because you think the cost of following Me with abandon might be uncomfortable or even frightening. In front of other believers, you say all the right things about your commitment to Me, but I see your hard heart and feel your resistance to My Spirit.
When you run away from Me, the enemy can convince you that you can never have a do-over. He wants you to think you’ve gone too far, that you’ve resisted My will for so long you don’t deserve another chance to offer your abilities, resources, or influence for My Kingdom purposes. But he’s wrong—again! Just as I gave Jonah another opportunity to go to Nineveh, I will give you a second chance. Come to Me with a repentant heart and listen to My instructions. Then move forward in obedience. This will bring unexpected joy and meaning to your life.
The LORD spoke to Jonah a second time: “Get up and go to the great city of Nineveh, and deliver the message I have given you.”
Jonah 3:1-2
