My Word is true, and it is a shield to everyone who comes to Me for protection (Proverbs 30:5). One of the most important things you can do is to meditate on Scripture. “If your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction. I will never forget your precepts, for by them you have preserved my life” (Psalm 119:92-93, NIV).

I want you to be prepared to deal with life—and the more you understand and apply the teachings in My inspired Word, the more success you will have as you do the work I’ve assigned to you. The precepts in My Word are correct, and they give joy to your heart. My commands are radiant and give light to your eyes (Psalm 19:8, NIV). Consider this: My principles give you all the guidelines and instruction you need to live productively. My truth illuminates the issues you face in a complicated world and also brings the comfort of knowing you hold in your hand everything you need to make right choices. It will equip you to do every good work (2 Timothy 3:17).

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom; all who follow his precepts have good understanding. To him belongs eternal praise.
