One Thing
One Thing
He’s calling us to the Great Exchange—the one where we can never lose. As we trade the “many things” that make us anxious, He gives us the “one thing” that calms our hearts. Himself.

Slow down. Breathe. Pause before Me. You have been bowed down with responsibilities that I never wanted you to carry. You often believe that by doing more, you are serving Me more effectively, but in reality you are worn out and uneasy. You’re running on empty—driven by deadlines, schedules, appointments, and responsibilities. That makes you critical of people who don’t appear to be doing their fair share of the work. It causes stress between you and Me and between you and others.
Find the balance I intend for you. Listen to My voice through reading My Word. Make Me the “one thing” you focus on first. Expect Me to speak to you about key decisions in your life. Then act on what you believe I’m asking you to do. When you take time to concentrate on My Word, you’ll discover that you have plenty of time for the rest of your responsibilities.
There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.
Luke 10:42
