The Cost And The Privilege

There is a cost to being a follower of Jesus Christ. You may be ridiculed, laughed at, mocked, or humiliated on social media. You might lose respect from family or friends. There may even be times when you experience physical danger or harm because you choose to lift up My name and call yourself a Christian. Following Me does not exclude you from hurt or public embarrassment.

But the benefits are great. You have My presence and My power. You have access to My wisdom and direction. I am always at work, doing more than you can see. The more you trust in Me, the bolder you become in your faith. And as you move forward in confidence, the message of Jesus Christ will reach a world that desperately needs to hear it. The glorious paradox for you is that there is joy amidst the sacrifice, and spiritual riches that far outweigh the cost. The privilege is unspeakably holy.

Our hearts ache, but we always have joy. We are poor, but we give spiritual riches to others. We own nothing, and yet we have everything.
